Yin/Yang & Kundalini with Healing Sound BathJoin Susan Jane Hall from Spokane for:
A blending of Yin and Yang, a movement-based practice that integrates slow, mindful asana postures and long-held poses. The intention is to stimulate the circulatory system and life energy in the body, cleanse toxins and bring vibrancy throughout the subtle body systems. We begin the journey with 3-7 minutes of breath work and grounding, followed by a mindful asana yin/yang practice. We will end the journey with a series of longer-held postures to open and soften the heart center followed by a nourishing savasana. Kundalini The class is a Kundalini offering. Kundalini means "coiled like a serpent" in Sanskrit. Kundalini energy refers to the coiled-up energy that lies at the base of the spine. When released, this energy moves from the base of the spine through the seven chakras (or energy centers) in the spine. The ultimate goal of Kundalini is to increase self-awareness by calming the mind and moving vital energy through the chakras. It is a practice that brings radiance to the body/mind and imbues self-confidence and courage to be YOU. |

Arm Balance & Inversions & Moving MeditationJoin Shannon Leibel for her:
A Different Perspective - Arm Balance & Inversion Workshop Turn your life upside down with this arm balance and inversion workshop! In this workshop, we will explore the poses that challenge you and take a different perspective on the WHY we add these exhilarating poses into our yoga practices! Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, request poses, and work together to find new ways of creating a playful practice! I want the students to bring back the curiosity into their practice and feel safe and secure in trying new things! I want to also teach them the reasons WHY we do inversions, and how it can shift their practice entirely. Moving Meditation - Yin Yoga Do you get restless trying to meditate? Do you feel like you're doing it wrong? In this gentle yin practice, we will invite in movement to help us find a meditative state. We won't necessarily be trying to "still the mind", but rather find a heightened sense of awareness of the present moment. This practice is welcoming to all levels and is especially open to those trying to create a meditation practice in their daily lives. I want the students to feel fully supported during this practice and really tune inward to explore their deeper sense of self. I hope that this session feels healing to practitioners and that they feel safe in surrendering into the experience. |
Friday night Kirtan & Kirtan VinyasaJoin Rob and Melissa for their:
Friday night Kirtan Kirtan, call and response chanting, is considered to be the heartbeat of Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of devotion. Rob and Melissa’s kirtan is a fresh take on an ancient practice, where heart-filled songs blend Sanskrit chants with modern, accessible melodies and lush harmonies. Kirtan Vinyasa Live Music Yoga class Melissa leads the asana, set to live music by Rob. A vigorous and uplifting practice for more advanced practitioners, in which Rob and Melissa encourage the use of mantras and music as a way to connect the body to the breath. Skeletal Rhythms in the Moving Body & Teaching and Practicing Yoga after Hip SurgeryJoin Tish for her:
"Improve Your Practice with Awareness of the Skeletal Rhythms in the Moving Body" | My goal is to increase awareness of the lumbar-pelvic rhythm and the thoracic-lumbar rhythm. Habits, sports and injuries can lead to changes in the natural rhythms of the skeleton in motion. The ripple effects these movement patterns have throughout our body during the dynamic and static practices of Yoga are immense, greater awareness and control over these rhythms has many benefits: habitual movement patterns will become apparent and may be corrected over time, reduce low-back pain, breath will more expand fully and into the back of the lungs, asana practice will be safer and more effective. "Teaching and Practicing Yoga After Hip Replacement", I had both hips replaced in 2020, this experience has improved my understanding and ability to more effectively teach asana to this population. I know from past training I have conducted that most teachers are unaware of the needs during Yoga for students who have had this commonly done procedure. In This Workshop Students Will Learn: Essential Yoga postures to re-build strength in the four quadrants of the hip How to assess the strength and flexibility of the hip quadrants The relationship between hip replacement and balance |
Kundalini Yoga & Sound Healing CombinationsJoin Ara Lyman for her:
Conscious Unity: Empower & Organize Energy in the Brain This is a kundalini yoga class that focuses on the idea that consciousness is an inside job. This inside job is an inner process that isn't cognized or emoted, but rather experienced through a "bottom up" method that includes introspection, imagination, proprioception and kinesthesia (self movement). Kundalini yoga is a technology that utilizes this inner process through kriya. Kundalini kriya's primary focus is on the movement and transformation of energy. Energy is moved through our nervous system and organized by our brain. In these kriyas we develop a greater capacity to contain, move, focus and yes transform our energies. Through directly working with our nervous system in this manner, it is strengthened and toned, our glands secrete and one is delivered into a state of higher consciousness. In short, you feel quietly alert, calm and happy! Through regular practice we have the ability to transmit this peaceful state to others and foster happiness and peace. Practicing this way in a group heightens the experience of community, conscious awareness and love to others. Together we magnify this conscious, transcendent state of being. The purpose of this class is to increase the energetic capacity of the brain in order to radiate this state of being. Every kriya includes breath, asana, mudra, dristi, bandha and mantra. Expect to work your body physically during the kriya and expect it to be different from hatha and vinyasa yoga. There will be some familiar movements but the technique of repetition and rhythm is very specific in stimulating the nervous system and creating new neural pathways. Those with physical limitations are always welcome and encouraged to come as modifications and visualization guidance will be given as alternatives. Following the kriya there will be a sound bath with crystal alchemy bowls, gongs and ending in a beautiful, intuitive movement meditation with acoustic guitar. Naam: Connect to Infinity The Naam “the primal essence of knowledge” is who we truly are. We are composed of an infinite creative consciousness that is essentially sound current. The primal source or "seed" of this current does not move, but it is the cause of all energetic movement and creation in the universe. There will be a short lecture on this subject and then we will do hatha yoga warm up exercises to prepare for a kundalini kriya to experience this knowledge somatically. Kundalini yoga is a technology that utilizes kriya and its movements to experience transformation of energy. Every kriya includes breath, asana, mudra, dristi, bandha and mantra. Expect to work your body physically during the kriya and expect it to be different than hatha and vinyasa yoga. There will be some familiar movements but the technique of repetition and rhythm is very specific in stimulating the nervous system and creating new neural pathways. Those with physical limitations are always welcome and encouraged to come, as modifications and visualization guidance will be given as alternatives. In order to fully experience Naam, repetition of mantra or Jappa is applied. There will be mantra in the kriya itself and the final meditation will be a beautiful heart centered Bij chant. Savasana is a restful, healing experience of alchemy bowls and gongs. |

These are large group embodying and connecting activities which give people a taste of the richness and magic of being present and authentic with others while they are being present and authentic with you. Circling: These are small group experiences of practicing presence with others to get a deeper understanding of what it is like to be someone else while learning more about yourself at the same time. |
Authentic Relating & CirclingThe before meal gathers near the dining area are informal whoever shows up are the right people. Each time will be unique based on us reading the group. The focus is on growing the subtle "pilates" muscles of: intimate connecting, being present in the moment, tapping into my curiosity in the moment. These voluntary activities support the building of our yoga community and add a special element not present in other yoga fests. The practices are also bonuses for participants to take and apply in their lives.
A workshop in Circling and relating skills: Circling is the art of slowing down and getting someone's world deeply. Is utilizes the skills in the authentic relating exercises and takes it to a deeper level. For the person being circled its a process of feeling deeply seen and often getting something unique about your world that you didn't realize because you swim in your own water 24/7. Myofascial Release hands on class and Singing CircleJoin Kristine Rea for her:
Myofascial Release Workshop Myofascial Release can help people release physical and emotional trauma and pain associated with injuries and life experiences. Many people benefit from successful and lasting healing, pain relief, and ease of symptoms so they can enjoy their bodies and their lives. Learn how to give and receive myofascial release. Learn how to connect deeply to another person's body, listen and follow the fascia as it releases. No partner necessary. We’ll be working in groups of 2-3 people. We'll be doing the class on our yoga mats so for your comfort you need to be able to sit and kneel on the floor during the class. Please wear shorts and a loose bra or swimsuit top. No oils or lotions on your body please (it’s important that your hands don’t slide)! I hope my workshop helps the student to learn a basic understanding of the fascia and how it holds trauma and pain in the body. I intend to help the students understand how to connect with the fascia, connect with each other, and follow the fascia through a gentle release. I don’t ever know how the fascia or a person’s body may release so I hope to educate and hold space for whatever healings may arise during the class. I also hope to educate my students on the hope of healing that MFR can offer. Singing For The Soul Singing with others is the timeless ritual of coming together to co-create a rich musical and spiritual experience through voice. Together we will take a journey through songs about nature, life, love, emotions, activism, peace and the overall human experience. Songs are taught in the oral tradition of call and response. No singing or musical experience is necessary. Come with a desire to use your voice, learn songs, and connect joyfully through singing with others. Bring your phone so you can record the songs we sing! |

Sound Journey MeditationJoin Ada and Nathan's:
Wakes sound journey meditation. This is an experiential workshop where we introduce some basic concepts around sound healing and our WAKES process, and then take people on an immersive experience through various musical movements as they typically lie in savasana with their eyes closed, sit in meditation, or take self-guided restorative yoga postures. Using carefully orchestrated tones, instruments, and beautifully written mantras and vocal harmonies, we guide participants through their bodies physically, emotionally and spiritually to help restore balance and facilitate healing. We often play instruments close to people’s bodies so that they physically feel the vibration of the instruments and it creates an incredible spacial effect. This workshop is about creating a healing reflective space for the individual so that they can “listen within”. If we have time, we will hold space for reflection and sharing at the end. It’s truly a special experience! |
SOMA BreathworkJoin Mathew for his
"Awakening Journey". The processes/techniques that I will be using in these offerings are based off of the modality SOMA Breath. SOMA Breath combines movement, music, sounding, rhythmic breathing, breath holds and visualizations in order to facilitate powerful, profound, beautiful experiences. The "Awakening Journey" is an active/energizing/expansive experience that will connect the participant deeply with their body, intuition and inner being/higher self. I call this a journey because we will start off slow and gradually increase the rhythm of the breath as the energy of the music builds. This allows the breather to experience a range of emotions, sensations, visuals, insights and revelations. To allow for integration, we will give the participants time to lay in stillness and the opportunity for a few shares at the end. Structure: -10 mins: Introduction to techniques, potential experiences & navigating the experiences -5 mins: Movement/shaking/tapping -55 mins: 5 rounds of guided breathwork w/ intentionally curated music -10 mins: Relaxation/Integration -10 mins: Closing circle/shares 'Tranquility'. This is a very relaxing, restorative and serene breathwork experience. We will be breathing in slow and gentle patterns to the rhythm of music that has been intentionally curated for this style of breathwork. Alongside the rhythmic breathing we will bring in short breath retentions periodically. To allow for integration, we will give the participants time to lay in stillness and the opportunity for a few shares at the end. Structure: -10 mins: Introduction to techniques, what to expect & potential experiences -5 mins: Gentle movement -5 Mins: Grounding meditation -50 mins: 5 rounds of relaxing guided breathwork w/ intentionally curated music -10 mins: Relaxation/Integration music -10 mins: Closing circle/shares |
