Northwest Yoga Feast is not only in the food but also in the variety of teachings we offer. We celebrate the power of diversity as each teacher has a unique voice and style. Yet each class shares a common intention, which is “BREATHE to heal and synchronize mind and body, to open the heart, so we learn how to love who and what we see”.
Erin Wert Happy Hips, Open Hearts - Traveling to Northwest Yoga Feast might mean a long time in the car and all the tightness that arises from that. Join Erin for this opening-day workshop to loosen up road-weary hips and hamstrings, get that body moving and flowing, and prepare the senses for a weekend of dropping "in." As tightness in the body begins to melt away, the heart begins to open to new possibilities of connection with others and Self, as well as willingness to try something a little out of your comfort zone. This all-levels workshop is designed to welcome and relax the body, mind and Spirit for the weekend ahead.
Greet the Sun - Start your day off with a moving meditation designed to delight the senses. Beginning with a slow, but heat-building vinyasa practice to warm and awaken the body, Erin will spend the last half hour leading participants into some juicy restorative poses where essential oils will be applied topically to further release and relax the body-mind. Students will have an opportunity to learn how to incorporate essential oils into their own practice as well as take home a small gift. Erin Wert and Jason Bear will lead you through a SLOW FLOW exploration of Truth and Trust in yourselves as a practice of Loving-Kindness/Compassion in this global, changing and interconnected world.
Ara Lyman I like to create a balance of energy so if we root down, we come back up or vice/versa. My workshops tend to have an informative talk at the beginning especially because I include kundalini yoga which is still pretty new to many people. Then we all "go in" together while I hold energetic space and guidance. I consider my offerings to be a powerful healing journey and ritual to be experienced.
